    Rigol DP712 + Stax SRM-212

Ehhh I have the Rigol on hand and it sounds like there is no downside to using it. A battery would require a charging setup and a process where I'd switch from charging to listening manually or otherwise. If this wasn't a 212... I'd probably be into it... but It is and I'm going to be using it...

    Rigol DP712 + Stax SRM-212

Sorry my fault... I wasn't super clear. I'm not going to try and use an external power supply to try and directly power the bias of my headphones. The 212 takes 12VDC from a wallwart. Generally speaking it comes with a switching power supply. The one I have on the way has an aftermarket supply...

    Rigol DP712 + Stax SRM-212

I just bought a 212 off of a member here. I have a Rigol Programmable Linear Power supply just sitting in my garage. Aside from the fact that it's massive, more expensive than the 212 and normally intended for projects... is there any reason why I shouldn't use that instead? It seems like it...

    The Stax Thread III

I've modified the SRM-T1 to use ECC99 tubes in the past. Does anyone know if the process is the same for the 006ts?

    Stax SRM-006Ts ECC99 Mod

The hands down best Stax amp I've ever owned was a modified SRM-T1. Loved the thing. I sold all my Stax gear to help finance my business so I need to re-create that setup more or less.    I'm having trouble finding an old T1 but the 006ts looks very similar inside. I'm not 100% sure that's...

    Stax SRM-T1 Repair, Re-Cap, Mod

I know this thread is old but In response to those who've asked. using it with my Metrum Musette and my SR-507's I found it to be the finest listening experience I've had to date. I preferred it strongly to my Spritzer mod 727.

KGSSHV 450V Off-Board Heat Sink Build

I, Spaceace1014, great necromancer, do with a box of parts handed unto me by the legendary courier "Fed Ex" hereby ressurect this thread.   Before I go on and try out a carbon I'm going to actually build this now quite old version of the KGSSHV. I've got most of the parts I need to populate...

    Stax SRM-T1 Repair, Re-Cap, Mod

Ok, So as you can see above I've got a couple things in the works for this amp at this point but while FedEx takes its sweet time it's time to plan out the next phase and I've got a couple options. Here are some possible directions I can go.    1.Swap out the input RCA jacks for new ones that...

    Stax SRM-T1 Repair, Re-Cap, Mod

Ok, So I'm starting to research the ECC99 Mod while I wait for the capacitors.   Reference 1. Some photos of an amp that sold a while back.  http://www.head-fi.org/t/688983/stax-srm-t1-ecc99-modified-240v   Reference 2. Photos of the bottom as well as some discussion of the mod. ...

    Stax SRM-T1 Repair, Re-Cap, Mod

So for those who haven't done this before the basic capacitor replacement process is about as basic a procedure as it gets. I'm by no means an expert and it's easy for me so trust me if you've ever looked sideways at a soldering iron you'll be able to do it and you should do it. Based on my past...
