Maybe true.  Although I sold my K10s just fine.  The real reality is that us idiots spending $2k on headphones shouldn't be doing so if we're worried about resale value.

I really like the idea of a single dynamic driver able to do it all.  The specs are impressive.  I just can't imagine dropping $2k on anything but a custom.

I can only compare from memory, because I upgraded my W500, but I will say I consistently find myself discovering new detail in bass tracks that I didn't hear with the W500.  The W500 did not have one note bass at all, but the W900 is even further from that concept.  I think some may be hearing...

Wow, the fit on these is soooo nice.  I'm already enjoying these headphones so much.  First impressions are a bit of a relief.  The bass is still seriously impactful, but I can hear more detail in the notes that I was unaware of before.  That's interesting for sure.  Soundstaging is indeed...

Did you find the turnaround time faster than expected?  I'm two weeks in on my W900 wait.  AAW was two weeks early on my original W500 purchase.

They sold me the W900 for the difference of the full value of the W500 AHMorph and the promotional pricing.  That's an amazing deal I could not pass up.  I would have probably sold the W500 after receiving the W900 anyway.  This was a massive deal, which saved me some time of eBay or Audiogon.

I actually went with the W500 since I was kind of in a CIEM phase to begin with after the Noble K10.  I uneqivoally adore the W500.  It blows the K10 away IMHO.  It's amazingly musical and just fun to listen to without any fatigue after long hours.  I achieved these results with both the Chord...

Alternatively, is your friend using a Empire Ears Zeus?  Those CIEMs have hiss even on the Chord Mojo.  I tested a universal version and find hiss at that price level to be a design flaw.
