Oh yes.. a metal base pair would do nicely for Xmas. As this crazy year slowly winds to a conclusion, I now have a bit more time to indulge in my pleasures. No matter if it is the Abyss, Auteur or even my cheapo HD560S, the GEL3N sounds fantastic with everything.

I am still using EL34 tubes (XF2, double o getters) with my GEL3N and totally love it.

Ah ha.. maybe I misread your post. The only new headphone which I bought was the HD560S. The Dave killed my desire to try different electronics, I honestly don’t think I can get any better than then Dave.

Hey folks, there is life after tubes... The Auteur sounds fantastic with the Dave as well.

Does anyone know the output impedance of the HP out of the Dave? I have been really enjoying my high impedance headphones (ZMF Auteur & HD 6XX) directly out of the Dave. The Auteur particularly has a nice sense of transparency as well as musicality when driven directly from the Dave.
