The discovery thread!
That looks like an excellent choice. I looked at reviews for it and it is described as either neutral-ish or slightly V-shaped in sound signature. The bass would be closer to the HP100 (a major plus). The TIN Audio T2 seems closer to the RE252 but with a soundstage that comes closer to the...- Soul_Est

The discovery thread!
Looking over the deals during this 11.11 sale and I am still unsure as to what to get. My gateway into this hobby was the HifiMan RE252. Neutral sound signature with excellent imaging and soundstage. I followed that up with the KZ ZS5 and while I do like it, it is nothing like the RE252 (or the...- Soul_Est

The Shenzhen Benjie BJ-T6 / AGPtek Rocker
I like the controls and form factor of the ROCKER. I cannot stand the audible noise floor or plops between tracks with my KZ ZS5. Going to return it. Would the H50 fare better with regards to the noise floors and plops?- Soul_Est

It does not. It is just a Digital Audio Player that can also receive or transmit audio over Bluetooth.- Soul_Est

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)
I have been looking to do just that but had not found a compatible pair in a while. Which Superlux did you use? The closest I see is the HD66.- Soul_Est

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)
Thank you very much for the recommendations. The reason I want to transplant the HP100 drivers are because of the original headphone's sound signature: Reference and flat with an excellent soundstage. I will read over several reviews of them to understand what I may be getting myself into though.- Soul_Est

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)
After seeing all of these excellent headphones, I'm wondering which one I should go for as a donor shell. I owned pair of SoundMAGIC HP100 whose hangers and pads deteriorated. All I have left are the cups and drivers which I'd like to transplant. My list is made up of the: Freeboss MDH9000 MSUR...- Soul_Est

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Just received my ZS5 earlier today. Took ~40 days from GearBest in China to Eastern Canada. First Impressions: They look good but are too big for what they are. I understand the reasoning but the designer/engineer side of me cringes at the sight. They sound great. Not reference or studio level...- Soul_Est

You're making me want to have a look at the Series 5 even though I have a ZS5 sitting in my cart on GearBest. Looking forward to review of those as well. They'll be interesting to pair with the future DAP (I replied to your comment on your blog). An exciting time to get into ChiFi. :L3000:- Soul_Est

Thank you for the suggestion. I checked them out. Thing is that those are rather open while I need something closed and neutral (or neutral-ish) like the RE-252 and HP100.- Soul_Est

Neutral sound signature. The HP100 especially are closed-back, studio monitor headphones. Hope you get another answer soon. From what I have read in this thread and in reviews is that Havi B3 Pro I is great for a neutral-ish sound signature. They also need an amp as they are harder to drive.- Soul_Est

So for a HiFiMAN RE-252 sound signature with a soundstage similar to a SoundMAGIC HP100, I should look at the Havi B3 Pro I, Tennmak Pro, KZ ZS5, TFZ Exclusive King, or something else?- Soul_Est
