This may be crazy, but has anyone attempted to remove the cheap veneer ring? I just may try and do it myself and replace it with a darker walnut to match my 109's.

It's a new pair confirmed by the Hifiman rep, I did think about insurance but all up postage would be another $150 and then it's not really worth it. I've realised the Stealth is a mastered "All-Rounder" the SE is more of a specialist and I think I want that as a compliment to other headphones.
