Help me choose? Comfortable IEM's with sound signature close to HD598 ~$200
I was going to suggest the TF10s when I saw the title. I was worried about the fit as well, as I have small years, but they are absolutely amazing. They sound great and after your ears gets used to having them in there (took about 2 days for me, 2 hrs listening a day) you can't even feel them...- sirpaul896

Custom IEM users, I need some advice!
Hello everyone, I have been using the UE TF10 vi for about a year now - sound quality is best I've heard in IEMs, and I couldn't be happier with them. One thing I've always wanted though, is a set of good customs. Being way out of the price range I could afford, this desire has mostly...- sirpaul896

Quality IEMs with removable cord. Budget of $200.
So guys, I ended up getting the triplefi 10vis and let me tell you...they are absolutely amazing! I was so worried about possibly having to sell them because I wasn't getting a good fit, but after fiddling with them for 30 minutes (not an exaggeration) I got a good fit and learned how to put...- sirpaul896

Is the fit any better? I have small ears and triple.fi may be too big. How is the fit on them? The 5 pros are pretty expensive so if I can get a good fit with TF that would be great.- sirpaul896

Thanks a lot. I think that I will be going with the super.fi 5 pro + westone cable combo. sf5 pro has great audio, and reviews only complain about the horrible cable. I'll be buying the cable seperate and hope to find a decent deal of the superfis that won't put total price over 200.- sirpaul896

$275 is a little much. So, should I go for a UE set and replace the cable with a Westone? I like what the reviews are for the UEs (TF, superfi, etc...) but the cable probably won't last me long. Can you point me to a Westone or other hier-end cable that is compatible with the TF10 or SF5 pro?- sirpaul896

Ah, so the Westones do have a removable cable :D http://www.amazon.com/WESTONE-TRUE-DUAL-DRIVER-EARPHONES/dp/B000NIOVWC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295580271&sr=8-2 I think these are exactly what I am looking for. Is anyone 100% sure the cable is replaceable? The reviews are great, and...- sirpaul896

Excellent! I am leaning a bit more towards the UM2s if they have a removable cable, but the TF10s are also a good option. Can anyone comment on the cable quality of the TF10s? I've read a lot of complaints regarding the cabling on the SF5 pro, hopefully the TF10 didn't inherit this problem.- sirpaul896

Great recomentations! I especially like the Westone's you mentioned. Unfortunately, almost all are out of my price range. I'd also love it to have a replaceable cable, at least for peace of mind. After looking up more reviews on the superfi's, Lots of people seem to be complaining about the...- sirpaul896

I purchased skullcandys before because of their excellent warranty - they sent me a replacement set for free once I sent in my old broken one - but sound quality of their updated headphones just doesn't cut it. And cable noise is pretty ridiculous. If I get an IEM with replaceable cables I'll...- sirpaul896

I have been cycling through at least 2 pairs of headphones a year now - the cable never seems to last too long with how often I use them (several hours each day). I have done a lot of research on IEMs and it seems that as soon as I found one I like, I discover something bad about them (bad...- sirpaul896

Fake Shure ear buds
I recently bought a pair of "Shure" E2C's, can someone tell me the characteristics of a real pair? There is supposed to be a time stamp on the plug right?- sirpaul896
