Exceptional in Every Detail: Say Hello to the IE 600
You're welcome. I've been impressed by Richer, their customer service is excellent and they will price match even if you find a price that you think they can't possibly sell it for and still make a profit.- Simon Patten

I agree, I'm sure they have excellent smoothing in the ADI-2 but even so, switch mode power supplies are horrible noisy things.- Simon Patten

Ok, thanks. I've been wondering if a linear PSU would improve the ADI-2 (despite what RME say) so was hoping you'd tried it.- Simon Patten

What is the box next to the ADI-2? Is it a linear power supply for it and if so, did it make an audible difference?- Simon Patten

It's easy to be dismissive about these things without trying them. If switch mode power supplies were satisfactory everyone would use them, they're not, they're noisy things made to a budget, not for optimal sound quality.- Simon Patten

I do trust them, but having heard the difference replacing the power cable on my amp with a high quality one and upgrading from one PSU to another in my previous Naim Audio system, I don't regard it as snake oil but a valid upgrade. PSUs and cables are very important.- Simon Patten

Thanks. I'm in the UK so mine has a Figure 8 socket and a cable with a standard 3 pin power plug so no advantage here. I have been wondering about getting a linear power supply for it but I'm also considering a battery pack which should last long enough for a listening session and would be...- Simon Patten

BTW, if anyone is curious and wants to use it as a phono front end, I could let you have a copy of a track or two ripped from LPs using it so you can hear how it sounds. I can't post a link for copyright reasons but drop me a PM and I'll send it.- Simon Patten

Not possible as he is a one man operation in the US but there is a link on his page for international orders and mine arrived in the UK with no problems. Don't forget to take import duty into account.- Simon Patten

I use the MKV version and am very happy with it. It sounds, feels and fits better than the supplied cable so I also bought one of their more expensive cables for my headphones. Happy to recommend Null Audio.- Simon Patten
