Official Sony DMP-Z1 Thread
I don't see Sony selling these in the US The target market of these devices are Asia, namely Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China. That's why they hold this press release in Hong Kong But then again, the DMP-Z1 itself will be a very, very exotic device. Sony probably estimated only about 5 or 10...- SeraphicWings

Official Sony DMP-Z1 Thread
From my guess, USB 2.0 is to be compatible with a wide range of devices with USB Audio. About storage, I agree, at that mind-blowing price, one would think Sony should use SSD instead, especially when the price has gone down and SSD provides real advantages to music playback- SeraphicWings

Of course, being HR doesn't guaratee no clipping. Just like CD there's bound to be bad HR. Uchiage Hanabi isn't really that great mastered even in HR But, if you listen to ClariS's Hi-Res, you can see they are the perfect example of good HR music with great DR ranging from 8 to 9 For Liz to Aoi...- SeraphicWings

It's HDTracks, there are too much upsampled crap. I've been collecting and listening to Hi-Res music from Japan (mainly anisongs), and I can tell you, it is definitely high quality stuff And I always buy Hi-Res digital because I don't want to deal with the hassle of importing CDs from Japan, not...- SeraphicWings

Maybe Lantis mastered the album at 32bit 384kHz before releasing in DSD? And If I remember correctly, some of Sony and Tascam's pro studio gear have support for Hi-Res recording, so the studios in Japan can buy and use them for their Hi-Res release I don't know about the west, but high...- SeraphicWings

Best IEM under 300
To me it's the Sony XBA-N3AP Amazing sound quality: Warm sound signature, clarity across the entire frequency with rich, deep bass, smooth mids and sparkly treble. Decent soundstage and stereo imaging. Vocal sounds like having the singer literally sings directly next to your ears, stand out...- SeraphicWings

Astell & Kern AK70 MKII with dual DAC
A quick question, anyone here has the AK70 MKII Yui Ogura Edition? It just looks so damn pretty. Seems like Astell&Kern Japan is trying to compete with Sony at releasing anime / seiyuu version of their DAPs.- SeraphicWings

Haven't watched Fate Apocrypha yet, but I just listened to its second ending And holy jesus, the song is ridiculously good and the singer just nailed it (She goes by the name of ASCA - a new artist from Sony's Sacra Music, probably from their audition a few months ago). Her voice is so sweet and...- SeraphicWings
