I concur. They're definitely v-shaped but it isn't as bad as people make it out to be IMO.- Selenium

You also said you didn't expect something to meet all of your criteria but hopefully something would get close. And the ZS6 meets all your criteria but one. The perfect earphone for sleeping. Itty bitty and it sounds great! The entire earphone disappears into my ear canal. I had been using the DM5 for sleeping with but this is even better. https://thecontraptionist.blog/2017/05/25/ak-audio-light-t2-i-feel-pretty/- Selenium

Me too. I just dig the design of it. I got the Light instead though and that's a rad earphone if don't say. As you can see, it's tiny. The entire thing fits into my ear canal.- Selenium

Actually in some of the pictures of the **** version it does show that little notch. I guess I'll find out when I get them. Promising indeed. I loved the Rockets.- Selenium

Almost got these but went with the **** Light-T instead. Because they are tiny and tough. And according to B9Scrambler they're close in performance to the much pricier AAW Q.- Selenium

Sony MDR-EX800st and MDR-7550 vs. MDR-EX1000?
One of the only flaws of the EX1000 was IMO it lacked the requisite aggression for metal. So when I was going back and forth recently on whether to get the 1000 or the 7550/800ST, I hoped that the latter's more forward mids would help in that department, and they absolutely do. So maybe the...- Selenium
