I was wondering if the Shure PA235 Level Attenuator is neccessary for both the Shure E3 as well as the E3c or does it only apply to the E3 model? I have the white E3c which has no volume control on it and I don't want to be on a flight and find out then that I need the PA235 if the lowest level...

Thank you to everybody for your kind input. I played around with them a bit more and with increased confidence, familiarity, firmer pushing, twisting & prodding, I got a better seal and with that came much improved sound thankfully as you guys had said. The foamies gave the best seal...

No I haven't tried licking them, mainly because I am not a dog and my tongue won't reach around to my ears. Sorry, I couldn't resist that opportunity for a little light hearted humour I will try licking the sleeves of course now... OK, done it with the grey sleeves and it seemed to help at...

Thanks for the advice. I think I am not getting a good seal as no matter what I try, I can definately hear my fingers if I rub them together. I take it you mean't for me to try this with no music playing. The grey sleeves are the best fit out of them all, the others almost fall out straight...
