What's the consensus on bose?
The Bose SoundTrue IE is a hit for bassheads. It offers BASS and the other part of the spectrum ist handeled ok. I like them better than the neutral Sennheiser Momentums although I am a big Sennheiser fan since the HD800S. The SoundTrue is perfect for bass heavy music like most things with...- Schnarpf

I don't know, but it surely costs less. I like the Duet, because its sound quality, to my mind, is above its price range. I have a Hugo as well, but I can't say that the difference in sound quality is worth the price difference or I am getting a little deaf with age. The Duet is a very good A/D...- Schnarpf

Now I'm getting confused, dear vlach. What does "lean" mean for you? I'm not a native speaker and the Oxford Dictionary didn't help me in this case. Do you mean it has a tendency towards a thinner sound?- Schnarpf

The Hugo is great. I used Audeze phones on it and everything was right. I think I like it better with the closed back EL-8 than with my LCD 2.2. I got the Bryston because I wanted a top quality amp for my turntable and I wanted to use a balanced cable for the Audeze. And the amp should be able...- Schnarpf

I have one at home for testing - make a long story short, I'm going to buy it. It is better than the old 800 that could test twice. My other headphones are Audeze LCD2, EL8C and a Grado 325i. The amp is a Bryston BHA-1. The source was either my TT or my Hugo. Besides the fact that my vintage...- Schnarpf

Audeze LCD-XC vs Fostex TH-900
I only had time to listen to them under show conditions. Both were very good, but what I forgot to set my mind on (too much excitement) was to hear how their isolation is. Which one does leak more sound and which one isolates better from outside sound? A little search brought it out. The Fostex...- Schnarpf

Sorry! Goldmund Studio from ca 1983. the most complex tonearm I ever saw and it is still working with electronic lifting on the run-out groove. Great example of how to make something simple very complicated.- Schnarpf

Ok, I have another one. At the moment is humming instead of making music, but that can be solved, hopefully- Schnarpf
