Would I notice much of a difference with the Modi Magni combo
Thanks, seems to me if I am doing the Magni, I might as well do the Modi as well. You think the difference would be hugely noticeable, or only to those who know what to look for? I like fine audio, but I really don't have experience with really high-end stuff, I just know when something is...- Saxi

Would I notice much of a difference with the Modi Magni combo
I am currently using an MSI M5 Gaming Z270 which is suppose to have a very good onboard sound card with amp. I used to use a Xonar STX II but switched to on-board as the new motherboards shipped with better options on board. I always wanted to try a Dac/AMP combo to see how much of an...- Saxi

How are the OPPO-PM3 compared to DT880 Pro?
Not sure if you saw it earlier, but I primarily listen to Spotify (Premium account with HiDef streaming, which I believe is 320Kbps for most of the collection, but not all of it). As far as I know, this is fairly good, but isn't FLAC. I have a few albums in FLAC but I don't usually listen...- Saxi

How are the OPPO-PM3 compared to DT880 Pro?
I don't really know the correct way to describe it, I'm pretty laymen. I just listen. To me they didn't sound like a huge improvement over the two gaming headsets I used in the past. They sound better, but wasn't omg this is amazing better. Which makes me feel like I could have done...- Saxi

How are the OPPO-PM3 compared to DT880 Pro?
Was just looking for an "upgrade". I've had the DT880's for a long time now, was wondering if there was something better without getting crazy expensive ($1,000+) but would like to stay $500 or less.- Saxi

How are the OPPO-PM3 compared to DT880 Pro?
I've heard the PM-3 are really nice. I was wondering if they would be a big upgrade from a pair of DT880 Pros? I use them on my computer and I listen to music (Spotify HiDef) and play games equally with a Xonar STX. I like the DT880's but never been blown away by them coming from...- Saxi

Anyway to get SVN to work without static on the STX?
I really like SVN, I do a lot of mixed audio on my computer (gaming, youtube videos, and music) and using SVN sounds better to me most of the time and helps a ton when watching youtube informational videos (helps make the voice much more understandable). But whenever there is no audio, I get...- Saxi

Sound Card or DAC? ODAC +2 or STX II
How much of a difference have you noticed? Are you very happy with your switch? I've been thinking about going from my STX to a DAC solution. I would like something I can use for gaming in Windows but also works with MacOS as an alternative input. I'm driving DT880 Pro's.- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
I contacted the guys a few days ago about the Maverick, I found his response kind of funny: "D1 is a serious audio equipment, you will find the music to be more 3-dimensional and with more details compare to STX. After all, your speakers and headphones are analog devices, it is crucial to...- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
So plugging the PS3/PS4 via S/PDIF into the 15.32 wouldn't work since the output isn't processed? I would need a MIXAMP? I'm only using headphones, but I never understood 5.1 and 7.1 over headphones. On the STX I can change to 2, 6, and 8 channel but I'm only using headphones (2 channel...- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
Is it possible to have them customize it from optical/coxial/usb to optical/optical/usb? I assume the USB upgrade is a must have as well right? My PC & PS3/4 both use Optical S/PDIF and I was thinking I would use USB for the Mac. Do you know if the S/PDIF optical is fast enough to...- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
Perhaps your right, I wouldn't have expected it to have quality for listening to audio on computers. I thought it was mainly a mic input (and I have looked at this unit for this purpose as I want to use an XLR mic for recording videos). Regardless, it doesn't have the inputs I need. I...- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
Fair enough, I know most stuff is Made in China, but I just prefer not ordering directly (especially if there are problems and I have to send it in to get replaced). I will probably end up getting one though, got a lot respect for your opinion. I don't want to spend more money than $200-300...- Saxi

Maverick D1 Dac compared to Asus DAC
I was looking at that for running an XLR mic, I am currently testing a Blue Yeti and Shure PG42 (both USB) but would prefer a XLR one. I can't imagine as an audio source, this would be HF enough to compete with any of the other options.- Saxi
