No issue with Apple cables, over here. I like how you blame it on apple in your first sentence and then blame it on yourself in your last.

I have made my final decision that I'm going with the UE Triple's. What are the best tips for them? I hear good things about the Comply foams. Do those fit on without any modification?

decibels are decibels. If IEM's cause damage, the 4 years I've been in the field of work that requires me to wear ear plugs for more than 8 hours a day, I'd be deaf by now.

How is the build quality, fit and finish on the SA6? The chromed plastic does it wear off? Are the cable connections solid?

I believe I am going to go with the UE Triple.Fi 10 Pro, they seem to be everything I want in a IEM, at a price I can live with. I'll keep you all updated on what I think of them.
