Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics

Stuck Limo, I've noticed you listed a few products Larry has decided are "Financially dead ends". With all due respect, I don't think the products themselves are financial dead ends. In all honestly I believe your CEO is a financial dead end. I think LH Labs could have been very successful...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

So you didn't need to crack open the Asteria because you already opened the Dorado... excellent R&D work.

Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics

How on earth is a dumpster fire of a company like Light Harmonics still in business? The blatant box art rip off is hilarious.

    Audio Zenith PMx2 Impressions page

I'd agree with your point if it was 3 years ago and when these were new to the market. We've been there, and done that already. There's nothing wrong with having a discussion to help people choose, but you can't come to a conclusion when relying solely on one set of measurements.... especially...

    Audio Zenith PMx2 Impressions page

If you haven't even heard these, what is the point of your post in the first place? What an odd, pointless soapbox rant.

Astell&Kern launches two new player lines at the High End Show 2018 in Munich, Germany

I seriously hope that's not the final design of the SP15. The novelty of that crooked screen has already worn off, and I've only seen it a picture of it online.

CanJam SoCal 2018 (April 7-8, 2018) Impressions thread

Too much in regards to sound signature. It was too much bass (particularly mid-bass), too much forward everything. The mids aren't drowned out as you'd expect from a standard "V" shape. Everything is up front and in your face. It's crystal clean all the way throughout the entire spectrum though...

CanJam SoCal 2018 (April 7-8, 2018) Impressions thread

Here are my notes from today in no particular order: - Sennheiser HD820: Looks and sound amazing. The sound stage is the widest I've heard in a closed headphone, but it still sounds closed. Bass is tight and rich, with a surprising amount of sub-bass for an HD8xx. Overall sound is airy but a...

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

It's not out yet. Pre-orders are open now, and shipping in May I believe. Not sure about the other existing iems, but I think you may be able too. They had Comets for purchase today.

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

I just came back from Canjam as well and I agree with the Atlas impressions. It's a Vega on steroids. Bigger, cleaner, harder hitting, larger sound stage, but still smooth as silk. If the Vega is a nice 32oz porterhouse steak, the Atlas is a 64oz tomahawk ribeye. I think it's a pretty amazing...

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

I love that these can be worn cable down. Looking forward to listening to them both at LA this weekend.

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

These are the iems I've heard recently enough to remember. 1) Sennheiser IE800S - tie (I like the slight "V" shape, but more balanced sound. Best imaging I've heard in an iem) 1) Campfire Audio Vega - tie (imo the best basshead iem on the market) 3) Dunu DN-2000J (modded to dampen treble) 4)...

    Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM

Just building on these posts. Recently I've been pairing this up with an older Oppo HA-2 amp/dac that I have, and I think it's the best pairing I've heard yet. The oppo ha-2 has an output impedance of 0.5 ohm, and it seems to make all the difference. The MD Plus is tight and clean across the...

    Fostex TH900 MkII

I personally wouldn't commute with these. The isolation is good enough, but not really the best. Sound does leak. The cups also look comically large for a portable headphone, but if you're cool with that look, then more power to you. If you're really willing to spend $1000 on commuter headphones...
