Ok, you may think im nuts, but I have the Fii0 m23, and I roll off the treble, narrowly, at about 2,000, a few DBs with the PEQ. I listened to them a couple of days ago for 2 hours, and the sibilance was mostly gone. If you have this capability, you might try it, worked for me.

did you actually say that Stax are LESS detailed? if so, I totally disagree. I have not found a more detailed can , in my life, ever. Perhaps they aren't set up right? Crappy amp? Not sure, but the reason I have mine (Lambda Pro) are FOR the incredible detail, and the ability to reproduce...
