I just realized that i have the dss2 amp for my gaming headphones, would that work for normal headphones? I know even less about amps than headphones. #ampnoobprobs

The k167's look like a solid contender as they are within my price range without the card. Would those benefit from an amp? Maybe I could find a decent one from bb.

I'm definetly going to check every headphone against amazons price haha. Youre right modular, they dont have the 990s. They do have the 770s though, would those be close enough to warrant an audition?
