I did the upgrade at home. It took ~30 mins from powering off w/ GS2 to powering on w/ MIB. Pretty noticeable difference in “flavor” right away. Using it with NITSCH DSHA-3FN & 1101 Audio Blue Halo+ (OTL tube) amps -> ZMF AC & VC.

In my anecdotal experience, the 6520’s that look like 5998’s sound like 5998’s. And the 6520’s that look like 6AS7G sound like 6AS7G. If the electrical characteristics are actually different than 5998/6AS7G it’s not obvious to me with my amp and ears. Definitely a curiosity.
