    AKG K240 Repair (Rattling Problem)

It measures ~57ohms for both sides. It really sounds like a mechanical rattle, not a bad electrical connection. I resolderedmany of the connections when I was dis/re-assembling it.

    AKG K240 Repair (Rattling Problem)

I am having a problem with my AKG K240 Studio headphones.  There's an intermittent rattling in the left ear.  It rattles for a while, goes away briefly, then starts rattling again.  I've carefully disassembled and unsoldered the left earpiece, removed the driver and check for debris.  I didn't...

How are AKG K240 Studio? They seem big and comfortable, and they would probably fit my budget.

Hakko? Weller? Other? Help me choose a Soldering Iron

I've got an Aoyue 936+ digital soldering station which I bought for $50USD new from a seller on Amazon.com. Aoyue isn't as well-known or respected as Hakko or Weller, but they seem to make decent equipment for ultra cheap. Their hot air rework workstation (~$160 on Amazon) got some attention...

    Good-sounding, durable, comfortable headphones

I'm looking for new headphones to replace my current pair of Sennheiser HD202s. These are my requirements: Cost: I'd really prefer not to spend more than $60, but I'll consider anything up to $100. Durable: I'm a clumsy oaf. My current pair of headphones are a mess. The wires have been spliced...

    HELP with cmoy board design

0.1uF is actually a little low. Higher values will actually give you better low frequency response, so you could substitute a 0.22, 0.47, or 1.0uF cap if you can find any of those. It might be a good idea to try an online retailer, such as Mouser or Digikey. They're cheaper and they usually...

    Homemade crossfeed filter help

A passive filter will attenuate the signal, but this shouldn't be a major issue if your amp can drive it. I say go for it. The parts are dirt cheap, and if you're really impatient or short on cash, you can probably salvage them from junk electronics. I've found that old modems are a good...

    Noobie question

It's a 3.5mm TRS connector. The tip is left channel, the ring is the right channel, and the sleeve is ground. Use a multimeter to check which tab is connected to each section.
