I think it all comes down to what you are listening too. If its something with generally poor recording quality, then you don't want high end highly detailed/resolving gear. It all comes down to the recording quality, and then type of file/media played. If you are using low bit-rate mp3's...

probably a dumb question, but would the GS1000 be seen as a logical upgrade from the K701? Also, can the GS1000 be powered from an Ipod? (I realize it will sound WAY better with an amp, I just want to know if it will work in a pinch)
