How much of an improvement are the FXD80 up from the FXC51?

I've been using JVC HAFXC51 earphones but they died on me so I've been searching around. I realized that I usually use my headphones at home so I've been looking into over-ears, specifically Audio-Technica ATH-M50. How much different is the audio quality of these?
