Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!
Technicalities-wise I consider the SH to be higher and above the Fourte family. Soundstage-wise I always think the Fourte family's soundstage presentation is a bit artificial - it is most obvious when listening to classical orchestral music, where the positioning and size of the instruments may...- productred

Agree, I am not at all keen to see a new generation. I prefer non Android systems but I think the UI is really not bad, I guess people are just spoilt by current generation smart phones and expect dedicated music players to perform as well even on non-music-playing capabilities.- productred

I think a search for Stellar or Stellar Horizon in this thread would turn up some comments from me on it. I only have the Fourte Noir but that should be similar enough with the Blanc. Put it simply, the SH is pretty all round, highly technical but not to the extreme, able to deal with the most...- productred

Curious thing about the SH is that even if the fit "feels" solid i.e. comfy, stable and nicely isolating, it can still sound off, which I think have to do with internal pressure. A clear indicator of this is that foam tips, while not fully realising its potential IMHO, never sound off with the...- productred

Wholly respect personal opinions, but the view on Solaris SH, and its comparison with the others, can't be farther away from my own perception, likely the exact complete opposite. The bass is never anemic, instead thumpy when needed but never intrudes into the mix. I'd describe it as agile and...- productred

They happen to be my 2 main iems of choice. 1. Supermoon is THE most transparent sounding iem on the market, period. Every line in a most complex mix / orchestral work can be made out with supreme clarity. Stellar Horizon is no slouch in this area too, but Supermoon is just special. 2...- productred

Stock Time Stream metal is perfect for the Stellar Horizon, money for extra cable is better applied towards factors more noticeably affecting the overall SQ e.g. tips, source etc.- productred

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I want to agree with this statement, I value the accoustic design much more than anything else. BUT the reality is the SQ of a TWS is like 50% hardware 50% software. A huge part of the tuning is done through the DSP of the onboard chip. Instead of just an output device, a TWS work as a DAP+iem...- productred

I would like to say the same about my Montblanc MTB 03 - even more underrated than the EX. Supreme sounding in terms of TWS (admittedly terrible ANC though). Maybe it's the fact that you have to walk into a MB store (or a B&O store in case of the EX) instead of a geeky nerdy head-fi store to try...- productred

Now you have brought up the Supermoon HK limited...........I have often wondered if that shares the exact accoustic design/elements with the Chromatic Supermoon and (at least theoretically) got exactly the same sound. Any idea or anywhere I can find the official say?- productred

The CanalWorks Discussion thread
Finally I have my CW-U77 sent back to Canalworks and got it fixed - both for the 2-pin connector and for the sudden death of the mid drivers in the left side right before I sent them in. It was an expensive fix but I love them so it's all that counts I believe. They came back after like 2...- productred

Anyone else has experience of using the BT-W6 with iphone with a case on? The only reason I am holding off from getting one is I can't be certain whether my casetify case is going to hinder its usage.- productred

I can totally relate to that, that's exactly how I felt when one day I decided to take my Saber for my lunch time walk instead of my Stellar Horizon or Supermoon.- productred
