CHORD HUGO preview report
Same here I'm trying to talk myself into this one. It would be my first purchase in the audio accompanied by LCD-2's. I wanted to order directly from a UK retailer since the US price mark up is BS, but they are only supplied with UK psu and version and such. -

Okay, the Audeze LCD-2's are the one. Now what would you recommend for a DAC/AMP?
I think I'm either going to get the McIntosh or Hugo, I'm leaning toward the Hugo because of its portability (added benefit) but also I can always purchase an amp to upgrade it later on. I will probably wait a few weeks - month to see how others like it before I bite the bullet. I'm a very...- PowerNerd

True, I want to get something that has the newest technology, but I guess that's the price I pay for wanting the latest..no reviews. Yeah it sure does look pretty sweet.- PowerNerd

CHORD HUGO preview report
I was curious of this as well as it peeked my interest. However the Prime turns me off that in it "needs" a $1200 psu, and only comes with in my opinion a cheap wall wart for such a unit. -

Thank you smial1966 for the recommendation! I will most definitely use that distributor, also the shipping cost should only be around 40-50 dollars. -

smial1966 I had not, but it appears that this is the route I will take, especially if it proves to be more feasible and economical. -

I found a distributor, well the only distributor in the US that I found thus far and they are going to be charging $2,395 for the unit, even though the exchange rate is much less ($1966.08). -

GaryWA yeah that's exactly what I meant. The Burson does have some good reviews, I'll have to do more research. Thanks Bump... Any other options or input on the thread I would greatly appreciate it, I'm not the type that jumps into purchases that's why I would like more input. Thanks- PowerNerd

Chord Hugo to go (Portable DSD DAC/Amp)
Just wondering but do you guys think this would be a good product to invest in? I'm looking for a top performing DAC and I'm assuming it will need a dedicated AMP to drive LCD-2's but it looks like a nice unit to have at home and also away. Will the unbalanced RCA outputs on this connected...- PowerNerd

I've been reading that a lot, however I've heard a majority of tubes are for brighter sounds which I'm not to keen on. I was planning on staying in the solid state arena. What are your thoughts on balanced outputs vs unbalanced? Wow 3k lol, as long as you found the best sound that suits you I...- PowerNerd
