A real listening chair for electronic music?
Maybe not quite what what you were looking for, but I find my La-Z-Boy recliner great for listening sessions. I listen to a lot of trance too, I find myself in a lucid state quite often while listening to Sunlounger - The Beach Side of Life album, more of a progressive style of trance though for...- PintoDave

My Custom Grado SR-80i
I have considered selling them, but the amount of time involved with producing them (I have less free time now than when I made these), and the limited tooling that I have available to me, the cost of time investment and materials comes out to around $100 - $120 for a set. and they cannot be...- PintoDave

Auzentech X-Fi Forte issue & question
Hey all! I managed to snag an Auzentech X-Fi Forte for the cost of shipping this week. Previous owner stated the card had a "hammering sound" when he used it. While I have not experienced it, I have noticed that the audio cuts out randomly for a split second (like input changing) quite often. ...- PintoDave

7keys, interested in seeing some black cherry cups! I still have some blocks of cocobolo and, I think, maple waiting to be cut into something artistic. I want to do something really nice with the cocobolo, but I want to put a really nice, deep, gloss finish afterwards. Not sure what to use...- PintoDave

Picked up a dual 2.0 Power Mac G5 as a secondary to use while the wife uses the main for schoolwork. 320gb hd, 5gb ram, running leopard. Gets the job done quite well considering its age!- PintoDave

My Custom Grado SR-80i
As a side note, the sr60 I have is my guinea pig set for mods and cup materials. It currently has a set of mahogany cups with starquad cable, DIY leather headband and my prototype set of aluminum gimbles. Not pretty but they sound decent- PintoDave

My Custom Grado SR-80i
Total that I have spent is about $270 including all of my current modifications. That includes the headphones, wood, raw materials for the gimbles, headband, and the cable and connector. As far as comparison, I think this is the closest I could get to the RS series. I have not used the...- PintoDave

I myself use a Weller W60P3 soldering iron, which I find to have decent enough heat control for most soldering jobs. Be sure the iron is nice and hot, with a tinned tip. Don't leave the iron on the wire pads of the driver for to long or you risk disconnecting the driver coil wires from...- PintoDave

I source the appropriet size of 1/4" wall pipe and cut it to 1/4" rings with a 14" metal saw. That's the hard part, keeping the entire cut straight without it coming out angled, easier with longer sections of pipe. Next I setup the drill press table to drill the rod hole at the same angle as...- PintoDave
