Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I never thought that I had large ears,so I hereby declare I don't! Elear cups are small and not very comfortable for me. Gosh I feel better now but maybe my nose is growing?- Peterpotter

I have Elears, work great for the wide range of jazz I listen to. Maybe not so much for classical where I prefer more open laid back sound. So I bought a pair of HD800s. Now that's a killer combo that covers a lot of bases! One size doesn't fit all...- Peterpotter

I'm an Elear fan, but not without the HD 800s to compliment it. Dynamic vs more laid back and open. I don't think one pair of hp can cover all the bases.- Peterpotter

25% off new Chesky Album from Mark Whitfield
I took some time last night to listen to other binaural recordings. There is some really exciting music out there! This album may not be to my taste, but it hardly reflects the technology as a whole. With that I'll let the sleeping dog lie....- Peterpotter

But I paid $18.00 for the best seat in the house, not the seat inside the drum kit.- Peterpotter

25% off new Chesky Album from Mark Whitfield
Let me regroup on this. I have no argument against the artists or their presentation. As a matter of fact I've waited a long time for something new from Whitfield. What I'm reacting to is what I am hearing from the recording, and that is 6 minutes of torture on the first cut (and other cuts)...- Peterpotter

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I'm using Black Dragons. They smooth out the high end for my old sensitive ears. Lots of detail, but there is nothing wrong with the stock cable. Stock cable may be heavy, the Dragon is stiff and has coil memory. Save your money...- Peterpotter

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
It's probably been asked before many times, but I can't find a hard and fast answer from somewone with hands on experience. Will the WA6 power Elears?- Peterpotter

Second pair of headphones recommendation
I received a Black Dragon cable yesterday. Right out of the box (ziplock) it smoothed out the higher frequencies. To my ears it's just what I was looking for. That leaves the sound stage issue. I appreciate the Audeze suggestions! Any other non Sennheiser suggestions? Thanks- Peterpotter

Second pair of headphones recommendation
So here's the deal: I have a pair of Elears paired with Simaudio 430HAD, and am looking for another hp to fill some gaps. I really like this setup for much of the music I listen to (75% jazz and 25% classical) but it doesn't cut bait for all. Criteria: >$900 <$2500 USD Better soundstage -...- Peterpotter

Audeze LCD-X
Question: how does the X sound with poorly recorded music? I have a pretty extensive collection of ripped Jazz, some from the 40's, 50's and 60's. Great music but not engineered or recorded to today's standards. Well recorded music sounds great on high end equipment (430HAD and Elears). How...- Peterpotter
