The Astell & Kern AK240
Looks like this issue is back after 2 years. Just updated both 240 and 320. Now I hear cracking sound every time I pause/stop/play/next track. Switching a track to the beginning doesn't produce any cracking sounds, same goes for gapless mode. Any suggestions how can I relate this to AK engineers?- pbca26

The all new Continental Dual Mono
I have a serious issue pairing my CMD with AK240/320. After I upgraded to the latest firmware both daps I hear unpleasant clicking sounds when I change tracks and stop/pause music. For some reason this doesn't happen if I pair a phone or a laptop with CDM. In USB-dac mode everything acts normal...- pbca26

New Fostex HP-V1 Portable Amp
I listen to post-hardcore/metal music. Actually at least 30% of recordings I have are poorly recorded despite the fact that all of them were produced in 21st century. > really smooth and musical That's exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe I should give it a try. $400 is not a serious amount of...- pbca26

New Fostex HP-V1 Portable Amp
$400 on a well known us store. Anyway, I think I'd save this amount towards CDM.- pbca26

New Fostex HP-V1 Portable Amp
Not exactly twice the price. HP-V1 normally costs $500 while CV5 goes for $800. Afaik on a release date HP-V1 was about $600 if I'm not mistaken. I'm deciding between HP-V1 and CDM.- pbca26

The AK320 thread
Decided to try out V5 instead with 6832 tube. Stock tube was about the same level of aggressive treble. I'm not following on line-out part. Does AK still amplifies sound in this mode? Seems that there's no way to bypass internal amp :( V5 has too much hiss on my Oriolus CIEM. This makes V5...- pbca26

The AK320 thread
Just bought IAA01 remote. Happy more than ever. Now I can keep this heavyweight in my pocket and easily operate with remote. Huge help during daily commute. offtopic: can anyone recommend a person or a company in Amsterdam that can do some wire soldering? Specifically I need to reterminate a...- pbca26

Correct, less aggressive treble. Okay clear. I think CDM can suit me well. I like that it has a 2.5mm balanced in+out.- pbca26

The AK320 thread
Yeah I was thinking about that option too considering that CDM has 2.5mm in and out. However, in that case wouldn't be Hugo a better option? Maybe even sell AK amp and use 320 as transport. These thoughts drive me crazy and I still fail to make up my mind :( I like my DAP but sig it produces...- pbca26

The AK320 thread
Fellow headfiers. I need your advice. I'm not completely happy with my ak320+amp combo. Looking to alter sig to my preferences. Can't stand harsh highs and more into basshead. Was thinking to buy either shure sha900 or vorzuge duo II. Both have eq. I prefer a dedicated circuitry over built in...- pbca26
