Do the right thing, complement with the SR1a and Immanis. Then you are done.

Cayin HA-300MK2 (2022) TOTL Transformer coupled Direct Heated Triode Tube HeadAmp (Page 91)

It's understandable as he builds to a niche. What you really need to do is set a budget. A build from Thomas Mayer will be significantly more expensive than your Cayin, for example.

If they're open to headamp commissions. Avoid Otomon Labs.

First what is the primary driver? If HD800, this is a mess. Thomas Mayer is very familiar with the 45 or ECP whom has his clever Copenhagen circuit. You could also try a tube pre with 6SN7 or the 5V 45/300b, etc to try and match synergy.

Yea. The replicas are far worse than the WE300B. And the WE300B is already gimped. I've owned them all and currently mostly moving to double quads of TM300B. The Elrogs are decisively more transparent and bright perceived comparatively. There is a very fine line in looking for more warmth and...

If you want more wet and bloomy, you are going to lose transparency. In that case, ACME is a good candidate. The rest i.e. GL, Psvane and every other 1. Relabel and 2. WE-clone are bad. They're all the same cycled-factory. You'd be better off with the 45 tube with the caveat no planar drive.

Don't do it. All the other 300B's sound quite bad compared to what the WE300B is. The Elrogs are a step up in technicalities and if you find that to your liking, the TM300B is quite a bit better than either ER or Mo variant. The only quick-pick, if you'd even like its nature is the AN4300E...

This has been discussed many, many times. It includes caveats such as tube integrated amps, solid state headamps without DC servo and protection mechanisms. The distinction of tube amp vs headamp is important. If you are using gear with transient spikes, be careful or you are likely to blow a...

Bah. Don't do that. I've heard a lot of gear and the CFA3 happens to be best in its class. Plenty of others have also heard CFA3. I think Ragnarok OG, Niimbus, SuSy Dynahi, Formula S are prime candidates. It's more difficult to find requisite solid state headamps and I think the TC needs...

I am still using the MELZ 1578 with Cabernet as well. It's quite different comparatively once you introduce the 300B especially with the finer things like more smooth yet resolved. I look at the Freya + MELZ 1578 as a stopgap whereas something like Cabernet opens endgame doors. The real key is...
