I have Audiotechnica ATH-M50s, and a Laptop, soon to get my Gaming computer on campus. What would be the best way to solve those 2 problems first, then moving on to clarity, A Sound card, External DAC/AMP like modi magni, or better music files? Or is there an article that has specific trouble...

or if you could link me to some articles that pair off good source/speaker combos. I understand that it would be redicilious to spend 4000 bucks on an amp with 150 dollar headphones, but i'm not entirely sure at what price the source becomes comparable to the speaker.

I have a gaming computer, and I have a laptop, and i have ATH-M50s. I know they aren't the best headphones, but would it be worthwile to buy the modi-magni combo, or a Creative ZxR or a Xonar ST/STX to improve the sound, and open myself for further upgrades? (which ones make more sense?)
