HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Yes thanks folks, tried the android factory reset after clearing update cache with SD card removed, but still no joy. After troubleshooting it sounds like it could be a hardware issue. I've emailed hiby. I'm going to have to dig out my ibasso dx90 to tide me over- omearmski

Thanks, yes I've tried factory reset then reupdating fw but no matter the action the fw is stuck on the most recent 1.31. I'll reach out to hiby support. Thanks for all the assistance people, really appreciated.- omearmski

Yes I've tried clearing the cache and factory reset multiple times. Each time the version remains 1.31. All apps are deleted during this process apart from the default apps. I've tried reinstalling Poweramp and uapp afterwards but the issue persists with the 4 line and phone outputs on the device- omearmski

Thanks for taking time to review and provide a suggestion. I've tested and unfortunately the issue persists. The interesting thing though is tracks that are 44.1 move at about 10x too fast, and there is no delay if I forward to the next 44.1 track. If I forward to a 192 or 96 track from 44.1 (or...- omearmski

Nothing exact measurements wise unfortunately. The track progress bar in uapp Poweramp and hiby moves at increased speed, flying through tracks. It does seem to vary in speed. The only consistent feature is the increased track progress bar speed, and no sound generated.- omearmski

I'm really sorry to hear that but glad you got sorted. I've contacted hiby support so will see what they say. Might have to return for repair as it's under warranty. I've tried every setting and action I can think of but am no further forward with solving. Thanks for your reply, thought it was...- omearmski

I'm having an issue with the 2 line outs, and 2 headphones outs. If I use them, no sound is produced from uapp, Poweramp and hiby player. The tracks play at double or triple speed. When I disconnect headphones and line outs from these outputs and use Bluetooth or usb dac out, all 3 apps work...- omearmski

Had the r6 iii for about a week now. Loving it although I am experiencing a very strange issue using Poweramp. Bluetooth, speaker outputs working perfectly but wired connection is playing all tracks at what looks like 2 or 3 times the speed. As soon as I unplug headphones from the balanced...- omearmski

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).
Dita truth answer edition. Pill shaped body was large and slightly uncomfortable for my left ear. I think this says more about my ears than the ditas though as I didn't find them large to look at or in hand, just in ear!- omearmski

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).
Had to return my Dita's, my ears are an odd shape and just couldnt get a comfortable fit. Liked the sound and detail. For me a larger soundstage, and a better fit, I would have kept them as endgame iem. I will be watching closely the next few product launches though, especially if the driver...- omearmski

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Can any small-mid size eared headfiers comment on the difference between Angie 1 & 2 size wise? Got a pair of 1s for a really good price, but they are humongous. I actually have to bend a part of my outer ear down to wedge them in properly, so comforts not great. However when briefly sealed they...- omearmski

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).
Top tip, first impressions are piercing mid highs (if it doesn't exist it does now) and very little bottom end. Can definitely spot smile inducing definition through the crimson peak, but hoping some tiprolling and burntime will tame the tops and flesh out the bottoms- omearmski

Ok thanks. Good advice. I'm panicking a little now as I'm thinking maybe ie800 and dita truth are too similar sound signature. Probably just post purchase iem guilt kicking in. Mouths to feed and I'm splurging £££ on my ears! **breathe**- omearmski
