You can also buy a 6-volt lead-acid battery, a "gel cell", attach a Radio Shack tip to it, and use it to power your CDP. I don't know if it's the super-consistent voltage, or the 6-volt supply, but my Panasonic SL-SX510 benefited immensely from a gel cell.
