Bought DBI Pro 700 off eBay, received MB Quart?
Sorry to chime in on an old thread--Having owned DBI Pro 705's and 700's, I can attest to the fact that the cable is indeed factory. Might not be a Quart cable (although apparently it is), but it's definitely no fuss. Secondly, the plug-- I recognize the plug as I have a few myself. It's...- nyumetsu

AKG K271 MKII or Beyer Dynamic DT 770 Pro?
I think the hardest area to get a proper seal with some bigger circumaural phones is in the lower jaw area, just below and behind your ears (at least this is the case for me. maybe I have a high jaw hinge). Instead of pressing the entire cup in firmly to try and get the sound you like, try...- nyumetsu

AKG K271 MKII or Beyer Dynamic DT 770 Pro?
if your initial impression is that they sounded different when you first tried them, that's probably the case. Make sure you have a good seal with your pads and whatnot. The fit will REALLY make a difference with closed phones. If you really feel like this is how they've sounded the whole...- nyumetsu

Dbi Pro 700 vs pro 705
So I just got both the pro 700 and pro 705, and something's been bothering me a little bit. I've heard that the pro 700 is supposedly 300 ohms and the 705 is 35. The 705 sounds on the dot as far as that goes, but the 700 can run easily from my laptop as well, more easily than my k270 playback...- nyumetsu

You could try these beyer gel pads: beyerdynamic MANUFAKTUR*-*Gel Ear Seals, transparent, 1 pair Beyerdynamic | Gel-Style Ear Cushions for DT 770 & | 900780 but do NOT get the black ones. there's a great thread on them here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/bey...-990-a-266192/...- nyumetsu

Beyerdynamic Gel Ear Cushions
in case anybody was keeping track, I found some threads that met your description, and the one that anybody should look at who's thinking about gel pads: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/bey...-990-a-266192/ now the question is, can I get the clear ones from b&h, or just the black ones...- nyumetsu

Vintage AKG 270 Playback just arrived - closed sextett
if by metal in the cups, do you mean the part that kind of jutts out from inside the cups and makes an angle with your ears? That part should be in front, not touching your jaw. Also, I've found that adjusting the position of the inner headband from the L and R things really makes a...- nyumetsu
