    Multichannel USB DAC?

Hi everyone!   It's been ages. :)  Other hobbies have kept me busy over the past few years, but with winter approaching, figure I'll be spending a lot of time indoors with nothing better to do.. so let the upgrade cycle begin again.   So, this question isn't specifically headphone...

    Ear tips for RE0

I just received my Sony ear tips (from their hybrid series - PN EP-EX10A):     WHAT A DIFFERENCE.   The RE0 is truly hampered by the garbage tips Head Direct ships.   Head Direct guys - if you're reading ... the RE0 is a brilliant headphone.  I put them up against my ER4s in...

New Comply™ Foam Tips compatibility update!

Ok, I don't wanna appear gushing or anything here... But... I need to reiterate what an outstanding eartip these Comply's are. In my opinion, they should be OEM on ER4s. They're really just .. that .. good. Not just comfort; the frequency curve is now perfect.

New Comply™ Foam Tips compatibility update!

I just discovered Comply tips. I received Tx100s for my ER4s, and all I can say is: Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! I was worried the wax guards would affect the highs too much, but figured I could remove them anyway (as the ER4s of course have their own filters which...

    100$ headphones for heavy metal

Just throwing it out there.. Consider the Koss KSC-75. Dirt cheap ($20 on ebay) and 90% of my SR-325i. Similar signature, lightweight and portable, easy to drive, cheap to replace. What's not to love?

    Dramatic "break-in" on RE0

Amazing. You're right.. the treble does extend further than the ER4's balanced armature will permit. There's marked roll off on my Etys at ~15k, but the RE0 holds strong past 16k, and I start to lose it (me or the phones?) around 17.5k. It's strange. It's a very different presentation than...

    Dramatic "break-in" on RE0

Hmmf. I never woulda believed it before this either, but I guess count me as a believer now.

    Dramatic "break-in" on RE0

Ok, so I just got my RE0. I was really excited, because after everything I'd read, I believed this could be my portable ER-4 (which itself is too beloved, expensive, and dorky looking with the red/blue connectors to drag around everywhere). When I first fired them up (Mixed Opeth and...

    Yet another bluetooth headphone thread

Interesting.. I never saw the HBH-IS800 before. Quite an impressive feat of engineering. How's the sound quality? I was also considering the SBH-900 but I haven't been able to find anyone shipping to Canada; it seems to be almost exclusive to the UK.

    Yet another bluetooth headphone thread

Hi guys, I'm in the market for yet more bluetooth headphones. Anything new come out lately? I'm hoping to hear experiences of people who actually have them (not just read reviews). My main concerns are: - Outdoor performance (ie. dropouts with phone in jeans pocket, coat pocket, etc) -...

Ultimate bluetooth headphones: DR-BT50 with KSC-75 drivers :)

Yeah it seems like a technology that isn't quite there yet. There are two problems... one, bluetooth should have been designed from the start to scale with the requested bandwidth up to 10x its current power. That would allow it to be used reliably outdoors (and we're only talking from I...

Ultimate bluetooth headphones: DR-BT50 with KSC-75 drivers :)

Hey everyone... it's been forever! I've been so busy with other things in my life, but just thought I'd post about (if anyone's interested) my latest mod. I bought a pair of Sony DR-BT50 bluetooth headphones to help me survive my winter walks to work (one of the few circumaural BT...

Need advice, M-Audio Audiophile 192 or Auzentech X-Meridian

Well, I've gone through a few AP/192's and I have to say... while I want to love them, I just can't. I've used them to drive my Lavry (and the S/PDIF is stable and does a good job), and in my studio. The problem is they're unreliable, and they won't honour their warranty (especially if you buy...
