That is the case for me as well. I think if the Caldera Closed from ZMF is a generous step up from the XC I may consider getting it. 😎

An amazing recording. Looks like you’ve got an original 1990 release. I have the SACD version, but I feel the original is better. It is more dynamic. Enjoy. My favorite is track 3. The callas that went away. Sounds pretty damn good off the Schiit Kara. 😌

Give it a try. I do think the high gain works really nicely. Passive mode is not bad, but the attack and punch is greater in high gain. The first gain setting is not that great because of the current/voltage output relationship. Anyhow. Either passive or high gain I think is pretty awesome...

Hey guys. The Schiit Kara headphone out is really quite good with the D-8000 (Original tuning). Using the Kara headphone out I like the hi gain setting. The Kara has a ton of neutrality and is really incisive with a good amount of punch and attack. Brings out some great character in the D-8000...

I find this EQ setting quite good with the XC using the Loki mini + I don’t touch the treble cause I actually find the treble tonality to be quite good. Overall if I may say. I think the XC will stay with me for good. Proper EQ allows the XC to be more genre diverse.

Yeah guys. I do agree. EQ is an absolute must. I’m using the Schiit Loki Mini + which is a very broad 4-band analog Equalizer. It is awesome. Haven’t looked back and the Loki saved me from selling the LCD XC. Boy am I glad I didn’t do that. 😌

The relationship or amount of voltage and current is very dependent on the original D-8000. It obviously is not hard to drive, but my goodness it needs some serious refined power. Weather people want to believe it or not, the D-8000 OG is very picky with amplification, but when you get it right...

Truthfully. For aesthetics and overall symmetry (height balance ) with my other existing equipment. They are vibration dampers for washing machines and dryers. Lol. Only 15 bucks and they kind of match.

Most importantly my dear friend is that you got a sense and appreciation for the recording itself. That makes me happy and you describe very well, some of the many things I myself certainly enjoy musically from the “Anaconda track” itself. Oh who am I kidding? The whole freaking album is...

Gave the Kara some larger feet. I don’t think it looks that bad. I like that it gets more height and has better symmetry (looks wise) with the rest of my equipment.
