His video series on “why we listen” is terrific. Think it is about 6 videos now. I certainly hope J.W keeps going. 😊- nephilim32

CanJam New York 2024 Impressions Thread (March 9-10, 2024)
Thank you for this. I very much enjoyed reading about an experience that definitely defines why we go to such great lengths to find audio Nirvana. In some ways it is a spiritual quest and it is that of a fulfilling one. 🤝😁- nephilim32

An absolutely magnificent post and curation of experiences captured. I certainly really appreciate J.W’s work and his attitude towards our relationship between us and the art of listening. Definitely one of the best posts of the year on head-Fi…at least for me.- nephilim32

I adore these posts, Jason. These chapter sagas for product development, hardships and challenges are just incredible and insightful to learn from. Astell & Kern Kann MAX
Hi. I apologize. I see your point now. I just run local files on SD cards and seldomly use Apple Music. Both red and green show up on the LED wheel no problem. Blue ? Not so much. Even if I’m using or hearing an MQA file.- nephilim32

Loki Mini Impressions
☺️ yes of course. I got ahead of myself. In the act of the conversion from AC to DC they draw above average voltage, especially for such a small device. Cheers. Thank you for correcting me.- nephilim32

Loki Mini Impressions
The Mini+ draws a lot of voltage. The SMPS is a 16V DC wall wart. Warm to the touch is absolutely normal. I wouldn’t worry about it. The Mini + doesn’t use crazy sophisticated heat sinks either. Why? Because it doesn’t have to. 🤝😁- nephilim32

Wow. It doesn’t get any better than this. This is the lowest price I’ve seen on this terrific IEM and it is a steal. I hope people jump on this. It is worth it...- nephilim32

Campfire Audio IO
Appreciate your insight and impressions. I think, for the most part, you’re pretty accurate about the IO. Going forward I plan to keep the Atlas and never sell them. I feel they’re unique enough where I never get bored of them. I will buy a complementary pair of good quality IEMS someday soon...- nephilim32

Campfire Audio IO
I just found the IO too bright and fatiguing. Some aspects of the treble were pretty good, but as a whole I couldn’t handle it for long enough listening periods. I ended up selling them and traded for the CFA ATLAS. That was a damn good decision on my part. More expensive. Yes. However the...- nephilim32

Final Audio D7000
With the original D-8000, the ideal synergy is source recordings that are a touch bass challenged. That is where the magic really comes in with original D-8000. That bloat becomes perfection to my ears. 😏 Hope the 7000 can mimic that.- nephilim32

Sure. A possible successor to the D-8000 is bound to happen. Definitely can’t say when, but the D8K is close to 7 years old now. X-8000 sounds made up I know. Lol.- nephilim32

Final Audio D7000
You and I are in the same boat. Not looking to buy another headphone yet. Also, I’m wrong a lot of the time as well! To be honest though. I’m a bit surprised and slightly confused with the iteration on the D-7000. I think respective D-8000 owners, this is not a headphone for them/us. I think...- nephilim32

Final Audio D7000
You’re hilarious. 🤣 But seriously though. Do you really think the D-7000 will warrant enough difference from the D-8000 to be enticing enough to buy? Honestly. I feel the Pro and the Original D-8000 aren’t exactly worlds apart. They sound different, but not enough where I’ve ever felt I needed...- nephilim32

Final Audio D7000
It is exciting. Middle ground flagship side-grades that are somewhat obtainable. D-7000 reminds me how the Empyrean 2 and DCA E3 fit into there companies listed catalog of headphones for pricing/performance. D-7000 ? I bet I’ll love it, but it means in no way that I will be giving up my...- nephilim32

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
That is a fair thing to bring up and my answer to physical manuals would be a “pro” if manuals could be revamped a bit. The addition of pictures and back stories to how your product was made plus the inclusion of the actual instructions and warning information could make for more of an easier...- nephilim32

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
. The XC really is or was designed to be a studio monitor and they tried to get a Harmon /neutral like tuning on them. For mastering audio, I can understand why the stock tuning can be very good, but for commercial listening? Yeah. Not so much. The sub bass is completely sucked out while the...- nephilim32

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
LCD XC EQ’d by the Schiit Loki Mini + becomes an absolute monster of a headphone. I highly recommend tethering the XC to the LOKI MINI+. Analog tone controls are a terrific match for this headphone. The stock tuning of the LCD XC is now forever obsolete to me and for a good reason.- nephilim32
