Best spend for 500-800
Haven't heard these all. One of my favorite sets in this range for bass is the ISN EST50, about $400 right now on AliExpress.- msing539

Closed Back Headphone Recommendation (Comfort, Sound Isolating, Sound Quality)
Have you considered iems? If you're averse, DCA makes some of the most comfortable headphones. Another one (though only available used) is the AudioQuest NightOwl. Having only owned the NightHawk, I can't speak to isolation, but comfort is outstanding. These lean dark and warm, easy to listen...- msing539

Cheap 4-pin mini XLR --> (mini)TRS headphone cables?
Sorry, DT177x specifically. Sennheiser HD490 should also work.- msing539

Cheap 4-pin mini XLR --> (mini)TRS headphone cables?
Look into the Beyerdynamic and AKG cables. I don't know how the Pioneer cable is wired.- msing539

Campfire Audio Trifecta
So far, I've had the best luck with BGVP W01 tips on the Trifecta. If anyone is up for a sub bass trip, give a listen to Orgysteria by Jackson and His Computer Band.- msing539

I screw** up my HD580 drivers where do I buy replacements?
You can try calling Sennheiser. Otherwise, it's probably more likely to find another pair (or HD600) and sell the old one for parts.- msing539

Finding Water in the Desert - Is there anything worth getting in the seemingly-empty $700-1000 USD price range that would be a SUBSTANTIAL improvement over some Senn HD 6XX's? Focusing on resolution/detail, neutrality, and sound stage.
We are in complete agreement. Let us celebrate with the perusal and purchasing of new gear to commemorate this momentous occasion.- msing539

Ignorance is absolutely bliss. But if someone doesn't love an HD6XX, we wouldn't want them to think that things only get marginally better when you move up. Things can get preferentially and exponentially better. And without hearing everything you can, how would you find your preferred sound or...- msing539

Regarding diminishing returns, I have a different perspective. There are headphones I enjoy at every price point, from Porta Pros up to Susvara. HD600 is great but it doesn't do what some kilobuck headphones do. Given the opportunity, I suggest listening outside your budget. Listen to an...- msing539

Want to be deaf, don’t want to hear crap.
They make slim ones that cut over 30db. Plus earplugs can do another +30db. So 60-70+. But look fine in public? You wouldn't be able to hear cars or people yelling at you.- msing539
