I'm thinking an AMP is going to most likely be a good idea - however I can't use open ear because I listen to a lot of music at work, and can't bother my cube mates :)  Should have stated that earlier sorry guys

Also - I listen to just about everything, Metal, Pop, Punk, Rock, techno, so something that is sorta balanced with a bit more bass is probably what I'm after.

I think I want something just a little different to be honest.  I like the bass in these, could do something more bass-ie and the mids would be good too.  I feel like these are pretty accurate.

Ideally, I'd like to stay in the $300 or so price range - maybe something just a little different.  Currently I have a macbook pro and don't feel like I need an AMP and I am pretty okay with the sound quality of the 750's but they are 5 years old at this point, and I'm thinking it's time for...

I take that back, It seems like it would need to stretch out like the other guy said it would maybe over a box or something. Regardless can I replace the strap?

The heaphone strap itself? I would like to have more silky nice cushion at the top of the headphones but other then that I love them to death

ok nope, I still miss a good portion of the sounds coming out of the song even with the "lossless" encoding, which is at 928KBS

Ok ill give that a shot... I just tried re-riping the song and im going to listen to it with hopefully higher quality see if it works. I'm trying the apple lossess now. We'll see how that goes. I've had the 555's for over 2 years, so I don't really think its a matter of getting them burned...

Yeah, most of the files from itunes appear to be in 256K. I think maybe I will just have to start by ripping the floyd album again in 256, and see how it sounds then

Right... its fake surround sound but they sound much better then the senns...

Ok well... as I said im completely new to this. Some of the stuff is 128 (mostly from when I ripped my CDs) and some of it is 256 (new itunes-ie downloads) I don't really know of a free converter to make them all high qual, and itunes doesn't do it anymore
