FatFreq Grand Maestro
Hi everyone here! I just bought a KAEI Tap1 Pro DAC/AMP to power my recently acquired GM, but I found it to be a little "boomy" in the bass and reduced the bass impact compared to my own Cayin RU7. After finding several threads in headfi, I concluded that the MUSES02 opamp in KAEI Tap1 Pro...- MicDavism141

Yes! The LO feature is extremely useful for stacking and ensuring the upgradeability of your chain in the future.- MicDavism141

I chose RU7 over DC-Elite because of the warmth in the bass and the analog-sounding mids and treble. However, not gonna lie that RU7 runs hot and takes a lot of battery from my phone. DC-Elite is very technical too, slightly more neutral and analytical than RU7 in my ears. The volume-stepped...- MicDavism141

If you need it right away, I recommend Cayin RU7 (Smooth, Analog Sound) or GoBar Kensei (Brighter, Technical Sound) Both have good tuning settings and are small enough to be stacked with the phone. However, keep in mind that dongles drain phone batteries fast, and if you're using an iPhone...- MicDavism141

How do you compare 622b Ti vs Storm in terms of technicality and tonality?- MicDavism141

Hi! Thanks for the response! I have several follow-up questions if you don't mind. Do you think SH technicalities like raw resolution, dynamics, and note weight/body play in the same league as Fourte Noir/Blanc? I don't think Blanc's overall technicality matches with newer flagships within the...- MicDavism141

a. U12T, CP74E - TBH, can't think of neutral/balanced summit-fi at the moment. I haven't heard Storm yet b. APX SE (Best V-Shaped atm), Grand Maestro (APX SE Lite Version) c. Duality (for L-Shaped), Fugaku (Bass is the best in an IEM followed by APX SE & Grand Maestro) d. Jewel (Clean W-Shaped)...- MicDavism141

Yeah, both are quite big IEMs for sure. Vision Ears VE 10 is lighter, but the fit is a bit tricky (the same goes with the Phonix series), you might need to try it by yourself first to see whether your ear's anatomy fits with the shape. Another option that works well with me is AME Raven - it...- MicDavism141

Vision Ears VE 10 is balanced and warm at the same time with decent technicality for the price. Soundstage is typical VE that envelope around your head. Stock cable is already superb too! Canpur CP74E can also be an option if you want a slightly better treble with EST texture. The bass is fine...- MicDavism141

Sorry but it seems that it's really happening :) :) :) Just sent my Jewel to the local 2nd hand seller today  Borrowed Quantum's SuperStage Module to test on GM today, and it sounds a bit surreal - definitely more expansive and bigger than Fourte, Turii Ti, and Z1R. Sub-bass...- MicDavism141

Yeah, too bad I've sold my DX260 :), it's quite bright and technically great on the mids and treble.- MicDavism141

That's something I wanna know, too! It seems that the ET Socrates cable hinders some of CP622 B's strengths. Now, I'm curious about how cable rolling to a good, brighter silver cable will change the CP622 sound to a more technical powerhouse.- MicDavism141

Yeah, I kinda agreed because I used to demo CP622B quite a lot (more than 5 different times if I remember correctly) in 2024 and always thought about romantic/relaxed mids, holographic intimate soundstage, and detailed treble that quite rolled off - a lot of things I don't find in Storm's...- MicDavism141

Talking about Storm, anyone here can share their impression on it vs CP622B? I find it interesting for both to have a very similar graph (and similar configuration too with 2 BA bass, 5 BA mid (storm), 4 BA mid (CP622), and 2 EST for both, with CP adding extra Bone Conduction for mid. I haven't...- MicDavism141

Nope, I found a reasonably priced BNOB unit at my local dealer, but will pick it up next month. Someone bought it but changed his mind and sold it by the time the unit arrived lol Okay, thanks for the advice guys! Yeah, I think the elasticity/rubbery feel from most Elysian IEMs' DD bass is...- MicDavism141
