Holo Audio May DAC Speculation
Hi Googaliser! When you used the HE-1 with the MSB Select, was it still true that the original was better than the HE-1? Or was that only true when using the DAC built-in to the HE-1? Would very much enjoy reading your review of the HE-1 - have you already posted one elsewhere?- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
Recently I tried going back to the electro-harmonix 2A3's that came with this amp, and found them to have a lot more bass punch than the KR Audio. How would you rank the Takatsuki 2A3's for their bass response compared to those two?- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
Oh please be careful when trying to move hot tubes - that's when they're structurally at their weakest (e.g. in terms of the filament's positional stability in regard to the plate), and most likely to stop working if a sudden motion occurs.- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
I've had a WA33 JPS EE for almost two years now, and have been excited to try out the various tube combinations with a Phi TC. I can't believe I forgot about it for all that time, but just yesterday I remembered that there are KNOBS on the front of our WA33's to adjust the impedance and level...- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
The remake was good, granted - but I was thinking of the 1978 original w/actor Lorne Greene (and Terry Carter playing Tigh)!- MasonStorm

Oh I just now understood your screen name! Growing up, that was one of my favorite shows. I'll start looking out for friends with screen names, "CmdrAdama" and/or "StrikeCaptainApollo." :dt880smile:- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
Had to take a moment to praise the USAF 596 rectifier when used in this amp. Now I know why I bought this amp, and this rectifier! I originally bought a pair of these 596's in 2019 to use in my WA-234 monoblocks, but absolutely HATED them in there. Tinny, shrill, peaky, bassless and just...- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
That really does look beautiful! I saw with chagrin that Woo ran out of these 417A's. What date codes are on yours? Did they match the date code on all four tubes?- MasonStorm

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
It definitely happens and is a defect. I received my TC and both drivers were defective, doing that rattling from time to time, such as with a really resonant cello note (and I don't listen louder than 80 dB). I thought (since this also happens w/my OG 1266) that it was a design flaw and that...- MasonStorm

Woo's New Flagship WA33
I was hoping Woo would have their WA33 on sale for about 10% off for Black Friday, but so far no go. It remains just a little too far out of reach $$$$$ for now.- MasonStorm

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
It does help…thanks! A few of our favorites for feeling it while still enjoying the music itself: Sara K. “Running Away from You” Sara K. “Blind-Hearted” Jacintha “The Boulevard of Broken Dreams” And one that’s more of a tech demo to see if a headphone can slam like an Abyss Phi TC: Yosi...- MasonStorm

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
How do you feel about the bass? It seems that most reviewers feel that the Sennheiser HE-1 has more impressive slam, but that the Shangri-La still has the extension.- MasonStorm

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
Can you elaborate on the setup process? I read somewhere that you have to do some tube biasing (using a multimeter) after a while. Or does HiFiMan send a technician to your home to do that for you?- MasonStorm
