Schiit Modius discussion - $199 balanced AK4493 DAC
That was easy enough to follow. Very good analogy. I can see the new add for the Modius MB, "Always Fresh, Never Fozen".- macaltec

Grado SR325e VS Grado SR225e, Who Has Compared Them?
I found a local retailer that carries the Grado line of headphones. Took my Schiit Modi3 and Asgard 2 and spent an hour and a half listening after they spent half an hour looking for a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter (very unprofessional). I listened from the SR80e to the SR325e. I even tried the PS500 and...- macaltec

Grado SR325e VS Grado SR225e, Who Has Compared Them?
I know sound is subjective. I am contemplating buying one or the other. Perhaps some input from those that have experience with both could help. My interest stems from being fairly impressed with a set of SR80e's. I have heard some talk of the 225 but not much of the 325 and certainly not any...- macaltec

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
Tons of information here. I have read a lot but havent come across any deep discussion about 6sn7 tubes yet. Will any 6sn7 work provided I have the proper adapters? I have several 6SN7GTB tubes is why I ask. Thanks.- macaltec

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Sometimes being a metal fabricator has its advantages. I havent spent a dime yet. Extrusion (upright pieces) are drops from work, too short for any other official use. The top and bottom plates I had cut on the laser at work as test plates during the initial setup. After drawing them all I had...- macaltec

A work in progress. Stole some speaker stands I built, grabbed a longer piece of extrusion to get the height I wanted. Cut up the sheetmetal bottom cover of an amp project and formed a loop. Going to consolidate into one stand. Have to make a new top plate to accommodate the DAC and amp. I have...- macaltec

Comfortable, good quality build and sound Closed Back Headphones
They certainly get good reviews but are sold out the few places I found them listed. So, lets add readily available to the list of criteria.- macaltec
