I watched that video and rolled the foam between my fingers, as well as kinda did the 90' turn and it seems to have helped. If your experiencing the same problem as me, watch that video it helps show you how to wear your Shure SE IEM's.

I was trying to show size of my ears compared to the IEM's to see which size is best (should have been clearer). I have tried all the sizes and can't figure out which is the best seal, based on sound getting in.

I was going by reviews and other threads on here that said with no music, I should be able to hear no snapping of fingers, or someone talking beside me.

I just got the SE420's on Monday, but am having real trouble with them. I squeeze the foam, insert into ear, hold until it expands, but I can still clearly hear music around me (from computer), snapping fingers etc. I'v tried all sizes, changed the foamies a good 50+ times and so can't get that...

This is a long term buy (as in I will use them until they die, I hope a bare min of 5-7yrs. Now I don't know what to do.

They are on sale now for $360 at Earphone solutions, but that's another $80. I can still change my order…

I went ahead and ordered the SE420's+iPhone cable with mic. Lets just hope by Christmas I can recover the cost of the headphones and iPhone.

The sweet spot for price/preformance was my thinking as well (I was looking at the SE310 earlier this year, but then saw the 420's for $50 more and it seemed a no brainer). In the gym (though my iPhone will be in my pouch) I will use my shuffle with music that to me makes me move. Sweating at...

Thanks for the info. I just looked at Shure.com's warranty page and it looks like all of North America is handled as one division. Now to research to make sure they are the right IEM's for me.

I got some speakers from A&B Sound on a boxing day sale in 1995 or 1996 for $115. They are 50watts and nice. The problem is for years now, the bass nob went inside the right speaker etc. We've looked at replacements before, like when my mom moved back to Vancouver from Saltspring. But the 2.1...

Which $100 IEM's (also include the e4c's) have thick or the thickest cord? That is going to be a problem with catching on things (like doors etc) due to my vision and balance.
