EQing is something that I need to learn, like what frequencies correspond to what instruments, I think that will help me out a lot. Right now I just use the presets, and then fiddle with them not really knowing what it is affecting.

I don't think it's worth the upgrade to be honest, paying more than double for 10-20% extra in SQ is a real personal choice.
