Was thinking that exact some thing until someone mentioned the tape trick like for the Sony EX8800STs. And it might just be age, although I have super sensitive hearing, I am also turning 55 this year.- M0USER

Hiyas, not really a new member at all, but am now joining the discussions because of new hardware that I have acquired over the last few weeks. EQing is something that I need to learn, like what frequencies correspond to what instruments, I think that will help me out a lot. Right now I just use the presets, and then fiddle with them not really knowing what it is affecting.- M0USER

Yes, that snap of the kick drum in Duran Duran's Wild Boys for example. I listen to 80s most, then 90s, and then 70s. No rap or hip hop or anything like that.- M0USER

I don't think it's worth the upgrade to be honest, paying more than double for 10-20% extra in SQ is a real personal choice.- M0USER

Sounds more vibrant to me using my BGVP DMGs. Like the sound has opened up more. Sorry, I am sure there are technical terms for what I am saying. I feel like there is more dynamic range. A slight difference that is.- M0USER

It's more fuller, envelopes you more. I guess the term is warmer maybe? The updated Fiio Music app is much better than the older version on the M9. And I also have Poweramp on it. It runs way way faster than the M9. If I was to give advice, I would say get the M6 or the M11, just forget about...- M0USER

I just purchased a Sony EX800ST from Japan, also got a better cable for it, I think it's got a plastic tip rather the metal one. Should I be concerned with that choice?- M0USER
