How do I check safe headphone volumes?

I just got new headphones and I've been blasting them all day because they're so awesome But if I keep doing that, I'm going to go deaf. However, I just don't enjoy music as much when it's low, because I can't hear all the different tonal characteristics Is there some test I can do to...

Did I make the right choice?

Today I bought some Audio-Technica ATH-PRO5MS. It was either that or a pair of Sony MDR7505's. The Audio Technicas were $92 and the Sonys were $106. I couldn't tell a difference in sound quality, so I went by fit-- the ATH's felt better than the Sonys. What do you guys think of what I did?

However, I also have one question: Would Studio/Musician headphones be bad for listening to mp3s on my computer? Because I've heard they're bad for this purpose because they don't "colour" the sound. So should I steer clear of studio monitor headphones?

    Headphones Battle Royale!

I'm getting a pair of headphones tomorrow since my Sennheiser HD570s broke a few months ago and I've been living on earbuds ever since. I went to the stores today and I looked at many headphones. As of now I'm considering one of these 4 headphones. I'm hoping you guys can give me some good...
