I've been listening a lot recently to my old 64Ears U4SE which was a precursor to TIA. One of the sound tubes on mine broke, while it's still usable I'd like to purchase another pair. If you have a pair of these in good to excellent condition I'd be interested in purchasing. I don't need cable...- lotech

I think they'll go with an entry level design. Not sure of the material but I'd put my money on 3d printed shells. They should absolutely go with APEX, maybe offer choice of one module to keep costs down. Apex (and Adel before) is where 64Audio made their name. People who suffer tinnitus, or are...- lotech

I tend to listen between 5 and 8 hours a day, and after that length of time I did experience a lot of ear fatigue. What first piqued my interest in 64 Ears was the ADEL modules for pressure relief. I read the product details, and did some other research on pressure relief and it made sense to...- lotech

@gLer, @xenithon I'm also not Afrikaans, live in Dallas/Ft. Worth area currently but lived outside of Jo'burg (Rivonia) for 5 years. Stay there long enough and everyone picks up the language. I found the RSA audio scene to be interesting, used to hang out at Audio Note in Sandton when it was...- lotech

I'm not too concerned about the sound of the Nio, I have Apex and Fir Atom modules to play with and can tailor to my tastes. From what I've read muddy or bright isn't going to be a problem. I have used cables that were muddy, albeit they were low end replacement cables. While I don't want to...- lotech

getting my Nio's today (arrived at P.Office at 5:35 this morning!). they'll be a big step up from my U4SEs. As for cable, my primary considerations are 1) do they sound good, i.e. not muddy or overly bright, and 2) Ergonomics. I've tested cables up to the PW Audio 1950 and 1960 series, nice but...- lotech

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
Thanks Jason. After about 60 hours Firmware 1.33 I'm loving this little DAP. and that's another thing, I was surprised at how small/portable the SR15 is. really looking forward to further exploring capabilities of the sr15 One other question, what version of the firmware introduced the power...- lotech

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
The single ended and Balanced both sound really good. Given I'm about 60 hours into using it (and it was open box item, not used) I'd say they are both outstanding sounding DAPS I was really disappointed when Opus went silent, I could have happily lived with my Opus warts and all. The balanced...- lotech

Used mine daily until recently, battery issues. Went out and battery showed 38%, 15 minutes later it shut down and was down to 2%. Since no one has heard from the bit I bought A&K &Anorma SR15. A bit pricey but amazing sound- lotech

CLOSED to NEW - See AudioTiers in my Signature: US Head-Fi Tour: VISION EARS ELYSIUM vs. VE8 vs. ERLKöNIG TOTL CIEM Tour - Starting November 2019
one thing about the Elysium and VE8 was that they're huge. I've never had any issues with IEM size before but these were not IEMs that I could comfortably wear for extended listening sessions. I did get the best seal of any universal IEM I've ever had. @toaster22, is the Erlkoenig as big as the...- lotech

Elysium & VE8 West Coast kit on it's way to Aaf Evo. I enjoyed these, was sorry to see the VE8 go, the Elysium just didn't do it for me. I'll write something up a bit later.- lotech

In Universal I am definitely liking the VE8, there's something about it that just grabs me. The ELY's midrange though? to die for, but the lightweight bass just kills it for me and I'm not a bass head. One thing I should mention, with the Spinfit CP145s I get the best seal I've ever gotten with...- lotech

received the west coast tour kit from Tybot. Will post pictures of the kit later today. first impression of the Elysium (after an hour or so listening), liquid... mid range vocals to die for, not a bass head's IEM. Extremely smooth balanced sound, hits all of my sweet spots.- lotech
