    RAAL 1995 Immanis

I can't tell you how many times this simple truth has slapped me upside the head and I still find myself ignoring it. There is just no substitute for your ears and your system... I was lucky enough to get a private demo of the Immanis. The basic "ooohs and ahhhs" were there, but my jaw didn't...

I walked right into that one...fair play lol.

This is literally discussion about comparing the RAALs with the Stealth. Perhaps you should un-clench a bit? This site has mods for a reason.

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

Agreed. I also can't wait to hear your and @Hiker816's impressions between the Magna and Immanis (I quietly suspected Hiker would prefer the Magna. But after experiencing the staging on the Immanis, I'm not so sure). Time for an ol' fashion audio nerd throw down!

The adjustment range could be improved, though it doesn't affect me personally. The last 1-2'ish notches seem irrelevant as they no longer suspend the pad from the bridge, causing the pad to bunch up at the adjustment point instead. For reference, I have a pretty big melon and tend to position...

Sorry, you're right...value should be added to that list. Done.

Also forgot to mention, the Immanis sound a bit more impactful out of the 16Ω port on the TI-1b, which I find interesting as the 32Ω was usually better with the CAs. Seems this could be dependent on what amp you put in front of the TI-1b.

I agree 100%. The CAs just can't compete on any level, save for tactility/impact, physical durability (probably) and value. How did you find the bass, specifically impact, between the VM and HSP?

Sorry for the confusion. For added context, combining the CA-1a with the VM-1a and/or special "Mitch" convolution filters generally results in excellent synergy and highly addictive sound (though I personally didn't care for the filters). Some users enjoy this combo so much they ditched other...

I'm sorry for your wallet, but know that you bought a completely different tier of headphone. As you are one of the people who convinced me to go with Mitch filters and the VM-1a (along with @Hiker816), I fully trust yours as well haha. Unfortunately, that special synergy you (and others) found...

So much better extension compared to the CA-1a, but not quite as generically impactful. You have more fleshed out and individually defined notes as opposed to general "bass, mid, and treble" sections. Pretty wild. No. The Immanis is an entirely different class of headphone at a very different...

A wide mix: pure cello, piano, violin, along with some rock, acoustic rock, metal, and electronic. The CA-1a "hits" a bit harder, but the Immanis are so much better it doesn't really matter.

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

Received the Immanis today. Oh boy... First impressions: - They are easily "better" than all previous RAAL-requisite headphones, provided you prefer more traditional circumaural headphones (SRs are still awesome in their own right). - Extremely technically capable headphone. - Staging is huge...
