Headphone recommendations for a musician
Quote: It looks like those comments aren't from audio professionals. Audio professionals like the MDR-V6 for monitoring because of its relative flat response in the upper mids. I dunno....maybe some pick up a dip in the lower mids. But I've listened to the mdr-v6, and I would say it's very...- Lithos

Fun 3d soundstage audio test!
Quote: I hate that putfile place. Tried and tried and even set up an account trying to download the file, but it won't let me. So instead I found a site that site many more binaural recordings, and includes this matchsticks one (although I'm not sure). If you are using Internet...- Lithos

Showdown in Budget Kingdom: KSC-35 vs. EP-630 vs. HD-201
Quote: ...the hd201 is indeed lacking a bit in the midbass department, and has a dry and slightly 'distant' sort of sound. My HD-490s, HD-200s and HD-280s have recessed midbass although the HD-280s has the most recessed bass. Do most of the Sennheiser models suffer this problem? Im...- Lithos

Headphones That can handle Congested music
I don't think that it is possible to playback congested music and magically make it uncongested. It is a problem with the recording most of the times. Give me a headphone or in a hi-fi system that can make Garbage - Bleed like Me or any Kittie album sound uncongested then I'll be very happy...- Lithos

What is your next purchase?
Quote: If there's a 32Ohm DT880 model that's easier to power, I would sure like to know about it! Well with the new Beyerdynamic MANUFACTURE tool you are able to select 32 Ohms for the DT-880s. I just hope that it sounds nearly the same as the old one. We will need to a volunteer to...- Lithos

CMOY AHOY! Help needed
Quote: On a side note, I have Senn HD280's, do they really need an amp? I got mixed reviews, but in the end the common line was "... but you will get more bass" which is something I really want I made a cmoy for my Sennheiser HD-280s. It made the very low bass a bit more, but thats...- Lithos

Beyer DT-880 or Senn HD-595 with cmoy?
OK I made my CMOY with a gain of 5 at the moment and it has two NE5534AP opamps. Hehe I guess that it won't work well with these opamps? So I think I should upgrade the opamps and remove the input capacitors and change the gain? Well I made my cmoy PCB with two single opamps so Im stuck with...- Lithos

WIMA MKS2 vs WIMA MKS4?
Quote: What application will you be using them in? Input capacitors for a cmoy. Actually Im already using 1uF MKS2 caps for my first cmoy that I made, but the hole spacing that I made on the PCB are just right for the smaller caps. Will it be worth it to drill new holes so that I can...- Lithos
