That's his opinion. I find 1ZM2 powerful in Bass and more dynamic compared to M1. DSEE Ultimate is much better. Overall a better product than M1. M1 is available at half the cost of M2

IEMs are easy. Get a good DAP and done. TOTL headphone sometime needs careful pairing of desktop setup and takes time and effort. For simplicity IEM and if you already have good DAC, AMP, Streamer, power conditioner then TOTL headphone.

Look out for Sony WM1A 1st gen in used market. May have to extend budget to $400 or $450 though and no streaming in it. Shanling M3 series have good battery as well and may fit the budget.

Nightjar Vanguard 2W is bassy copper cable. It came free with my Singularity so not sure about retail price of it. But it does have tonal density and good bass. Resolution not so much.

Take care of your ears and IEMs. This shouldn't happen

anyways you want your DAC/AMP to have some thermal equilibrium before you start listening. Switch on in advance is what I would suggest. Think of it as tube amp, not ideal but bringing your expectation down might help. Hopefully next gen will be faster.

I own lot of tube amps and I am used to switching on source and amp well before I sit down for a listen.
