DIY Earbuds
So I finaly had time to assemble my 600ohm beryllium drivers. I used the black plastic shell that came with them (making them a sleeper build, effectively) with no additional damping foam and this TPE cable with thick copper wires: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32997959582.html For strain...- krass76

Review by 'krass76' on item 'Venture Electronics (VE) Monk+/Monk Plus'
price to performance: amazing looks: the smoked (semi-transparent) MX500 stock shell they use is very nice, feels sturdy cable: not the highest quality, but it will do To note: I listened with the black foams. sound: I advocate the use of EQ! Since I like a linear / neutral frequency response, I...- krass76

DIY Earbuds
So I had a bit of time to look through ali, for cable: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32997959582.html Conductors seem to be nice and thick, should keep resistance and inductance low, sheathing is flat TPE so it should be soft and easy to untangle. Is this a good cable or would you prefer the...- krass76

DIY Earbuds
Hly sht thanks robar! Didn't expect so much useful advice! Now I kinda wish I had come here first! Originally I wanted a transparent shell but apparently I can't get them shipped to my country. Also: What would you look for in a good cable? Would you recommend anything? Don't need any remote or...- krass76

DIY Earbuds
Joining the pack, ordered the 600 ohm BE drivers. Main purpose is to write some music on travels without having to constantly pack up my real headphones (been using Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohm for many years now). I don't expect the DIY buds to outperform them but I hope they're reasonably...- krass76

amp for k712
okay, but I worry about the heed influencing my sound with the k712 or having bad synergy. it wold be really cool if someone had the two of them (just loud thinking on my side .D) and could test them real quick. no extensive listening or anything, just quick and dirty.- krass76

amp for k712
Okay, but isn't it going to colour the sound of the audio signal? My goal I'm trying to achieve here is as clean and untouched sound as I can get. I worry whether the canamp isn't going to do the same to the k712 like it does to my hd650 because it was, from what I read, originally built to...- krass76

amp for k712
Now, there also is a second option: I keep my Heed Canamp instead of selling it, which I intend on doing. Will the Canamp with the k712 be better for monitoring/production than the O2? If not, I'm selling it! Any response would be greatly appreciated!- krass76

amp for k712
Hey, I'm out to buy some k712 pro and need an amp to go with it. I already have a Steinberg UR22 and the headphone amp is said to be quite **** so I want to use the lineout into a propper amp. From what I've read the JDS Labs Objective 2 (o2) would be it, but I'm not certain yet. I will be...- krass76
