Do Optical, RCA, & USB connections to a DAC produce the same quality sound?

Ok. I guess I'm getting confused now lol. So I guess let me ask this... Is using a 1/8" headphone jack to RCA cable from my Mac computer to my Wa7 going to bypass the internal DAC?

Do Optical, RCA, & USB connections to a DAC produce the same quality sound?

Ohhhhhh. That is super helpful to know. I had no idea it bypasses the DAC. (yeah i know, I'm a sad excuse for an audiophile) Thank you very much. Time to use USB or optical then. Thanks!

Do Optical, RCA, & USB connections to a DAC produce the same quality sound?

Ok. So if it's your opinion, that's doesn't mean one is "better" than the other? Just based on personal preference?

Do Optical, RCA, & USB connections to a DAC produce the same quality sound?

I have a Wa7d and I can connect to it either via Optical, RCA or USB. Is there one i should do over the other? If so, why?   thanks!

Mac OSX Audio MIDI Setup question. Only showing up to 96,000hz instead of 192,000hz

I'll admit i'm not exactly an audio expert here, but I noticed something that I would like to figure out.   I recently purchased a Woo Audio Wa7d and on my mac computer running OS X 10.10, I can only go up to 96000hz. My choices are:   44,100hz 48,000hz 88,200hz 96,000hz   I am...

PLEASE help with Woo Audio Wa7d Fireflies and Mac OSX Yosimite 10.10 compatibility

Steven, I haven't tried different turn on combinations. I guess that's worth a shot. I'm thinking that either the USB cable I have is not compatible, some software on my Mac is blocking the connection, or that I have a bad USB receptical on the wa7d. I have the optical connection right now...

PLEASE help with Woo Audio Wa7d Fireflies and Mac OSX Yosimite 10.10 compatibility

Well i did try without my HDMI cable connected. No such luck there either. I have a better HDMI cable and powered USB hub on the way as well. So hopefully i'll be able to get this sorted out. Just my luck i guess.

PLEASE help with Woo Audio Wa7d Fireflies and Mac OSX Yosimite 10.10 compatibility

I'm actually in communication with a really nice guy through woo audio now that seems to know his stuff. This is what he said. Is this not true? "Optical supports up to 192 as well as USB. Honestly, USB and optical have the same great sound. In fact, optical rejects jitter better than USB...

PLEASE help with Woo Audio Wa7d Fireflies and Mac OSX Yosimite 10.10 compatibility

Good thinking. I'm gonna give that a shot and get back with you. I had someone from woo audio contact me and recommend that I try the 1/8" to optical cord and that gives me the same audio quality. Is that true?

PLEASE help with Woo Audio Wa7d Fireflies and Mac OSX Yosimite 10.10 compatibility

Hey Steven,   thanks for the reply. I'm jealous of your trashcan :). But yeah i can't get the device to appear in the midi section at all. I'm thinking maybe my USB cable could be it? its not a high quality one, but it is brand new. I do have my setup going with an HDMI connection out of my...
