I've listened to the k701's through my Echo Audiofire 8 audio interface without any extra amplification. They were fine, but maybe a very high-end amp might give it a little more kick.

I think the best position is no position. I found the ear pads to be pressing into my head, giving me headaches. I had memory foam pads too, but they didn't help that much

You could also try Jriver media center? Windows and Mac compatible

How about converting using Jriver media player? It can play back SACD files and convert them to FLAC files. Can down channel from multi-channel to stereo as well.

Do you think that ripping SACD's and playing them back as ISO's changes the sound quality of the recording at all? 

What amplifier do you think would match well with the Martin Logan speakers? Does it vary by model? Tube? Solid State?

Yeah I was curious about it too. Is there a 3.5mm cable that connects the JH3A to any portable device, or must there be a DAC?

I'm also looking around for a replacement cable as well. But at the same time, I need an adapter that would go from 8pin to 3.5mm a lot more. Ever since it broke, my JH16a's have been collecting dust

How would one differentiate the new version from the old version? Also, is the JH-3A all out of production now? I'm looking around everyone to find one since the adapter I had broke.

I think Double helix cables has a custom adapter order option. But are there any other cable companies that would still make a JH-3A 8 pin to 3.5mm adapter upon request? My adapter recently broke and I can't seem to find anywhere to buy a new one since the JH-3A is out of production.

It seems like JH-Audio has stopped producing the JH-3A amplifiers. Too bad people like me who has the JH16 with JH-3A cables but no amplifier...
