Help Finding Headphones <$200
The M50 and the M50x have the same drivers and build. They should theoretically sound exactly the same. The only difference between them is the detachable cable and new pad materials on the ear cups on the M50x. The M50s go for quite a bit cheaper, so it's not a bad choice if you want to save...- khanis

Suggestions for under $200?
Appreciate the input! The M50x's look really promising. I have listened to the M50s which are pretty much the same thing sound wise and they sounded pretty good with my music.- khanis

Best headphones for home use under 50$
I upgraded from the HD201's (similar to the 202's) to the JVC HA RX700 and it was a perfect upgrade. Amazing sound quality for the price. I routinely prefer it to a lot of more expensive headphones that my friends have. The bass presence is outstanding and the mids come through very clear. Does...- khanis

Suggestions for under $200?
Looking for an upgrade to the JVC HA-RX700 in particular. I have been looking at the M50x, SoundMagic HP150, AKG 550/545, Beyerdynamic DT770, and Sony MDR-1R. I listen to mostly rock music (think Beatles sound signature) and folk music, but also enjoy jazz and blues. I prefer a closed back...- khanis

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Hello. I broke my JVC HA RX700's again ( 2nd time it happened in 3 years, my fault completely), and I really enjoyed them. I have up to $75 to spend. Should I go for them again? Is there any other alternative? I was thinking about the RX900 for a change, but some say the RX700 is superior un...- khanis

My RX700's broke again...do I go for a 3rd pair?
Both times were completely my fault. The cable was dangling on my desk, caught my chair, and as i turned around, the piece that connects the 'phone to the band broke. The sound still works fine, but hot glue only does so much. Anyway, it's now uncomfortable. This happened once with my first...- khanis

JVC HA-RX700 Mods
I did the foam mod with cotton and WOW, it's far more comfortable. I prefer the larger soundstage as well; it really suits the sound of these headphones. Bass is lessened, but I feel it's more controlled. The separation of instruments is vastly improved after the mod. The comfort is the...- khanis

Searching for an upgrade to JVC-HARX700
Thanks, I've looked at everything pretty extensively. The SRH840's looked good, but after hearing reports of them being uncomfortable and heavy, I've decided against those. The Ultrasone's seem to lack bass and have a brighter soudn which I suppose isn't what I'm looking for. Denon's 1100's...- khanis

Searching for an upgrade to JVC-HARX700
Thanks for the suggestions. The Beyerdynamic headphones seem to be too difficult to drive from sources without an amp, so I had already crossed those out of my list. I prefer circumaural headphones, so I took out the Grado's, although they seem to be great headphones. I've added the following to...- khanis

Searching for an upgrade to JVC-HARX700
I've been using the RX700's for a year and a half now, and I was wondering what options there are for under $200 USD. I will be running this from a Asus Xonar DX without an amplifier. I may consider getting an amplifier later if it is necessary to do so. I have looked at several 'phones and...- khanis

In a portable headphone conundrum...
I'm looking for a set of headphones that offer equal sound quality to my JVC HA-RX700 and much better sound than the stock iPhone headphones. However, I don't want an in ear set, but instead something on-ear or over ear that is quite portable and can fold. I can go up to 50 bucks in terms of...- khanis

JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?
I'd like to express my gratitude to the OP. Thank you so much for bringing these phones to my attention. Prior to owning the 700's, I had the HD201's. I thought the sound on those was incredible considering the price... Unfortunately, I have a nasty habit of keeping my headphones on my...- khanis
